Qatar - Filipino, Pakistani, Indian communities celebrate Arab Cup

Filipino, Pakistani and Indian expat communities in Qatar are participating and supporting the FIFA Arab Cup Qatar 2021 activities. 
Filipino Community Group H.E.R.O Qatar founding Chairman Emeritus Engr. Henry Abdon Dimaano (pictured) told The Peninsula:“We are 100 per cent ready to support Qatar since we have regular communications and coordination with various departments of Qatar government.”
He added that they have undergone trainings, seminars related to the sporting event. 
“As a Filipino, this is a way of us in giving back to Qatar. During the height of COVID-19 pandemic, Qatar has been so generous to us especially for repatriations, food assistance and even the free vaccinations against COVID-19.”
He added:“As a community leader in a community group, we are one of the groups that's been disseminating the right information to them especially on sports events like FIFA Arab Cup Qatar 2021. I myself is also part of it, and we are handling the stadiums project. 
“We have a lot of Filipino volunteers during the FIFA Arab Cup Qatar 2021, and through this we are supporting Qatar to further succeed on this kind of event.” 
Members of Pakistani Expatriate Community in Qatar are excited to join the FIFA Arab Cup Qatar 2021.
Lauding the high level preparations by the Supreme Committee for Delivery and Legacy to host this giant sporting event, Malak Nawar Khan Wazir, a Pakistan community leader, said Doha will surprise the football fans in all over the world with its excellent arrangements.
Speaking to The Peninsula, Wazir said this is not new for Qatar which has great experience in hosting mega events.
To a question about the readiness of the country to host such events, Wazir said:“Qatar has almost completed its infrastructure development projects providing world-class services such as stadiums, road networks, public transport and other services.” He said that under the development projects many world class public parks, beaches, tourist places have been built where fans, visitors and residents can spend quality time.
“A large number of members of Pakistan community are going to watch the matches. Many people registered for volunteering to support this mega sporting event. We are ready to play our roles for the success of this mega sporting event,” he said. 
Indian expatriate community is also participating in the FIFA Arab Cup Qatar 2021 in a big way, playing their active roles to support the mega sporting event.
“Over 15,000 volunteers from Indian Expatriate Community registered for volunteering, ready to serve for FIFA Arab Cup Qatar 2021 and FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022,” said President of Indian Cultural Centre (ICC) P N Babu Rajan. 
Speaking to The Peninsula, he said Doha will make history in excellent arrangement for FIFA Arab Cup Qatar 2021.
Speaking about the preparation of the country for FIFA Arab Cup Qatar 2021, Babu Rajan said:“The stadiums are fantastic with full facilities, providing comfort to players and fans.
“Indian community represented by Indian Sports Centre, in association with three other Apex Bodies — Indian Cultural Centre (ICC), Indian Community Benevolent Forum (ICBF) and Indian Business and Professionals Council (IBPC) — organised a carnival for the community in honour of the host nation recently.”
He said the carnival aimed at celebrating the one-year countdown to FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022. 
“I expect that large number of people from India will join the mega sporting events in Qatar,” he said.
