(MENAFN) Iran, Azerbaijan as well as Turkmenistan inked a trilateral gas exchange contract for over 2 billion cubic meters on an annual basis.
The contract was reached in the Economic Cooperation Organization (ECO) meeting in Ashgabat by the oil ministers of the three nations with the leaders of Iran and Turkmenistan and Azerbaijani premier.
Iranian Oil Minister Javad Owji, who was attending with Leader Ebrahim Raisi to the ECO Leaders’ Conference, updated journalists that Turkmenistan is going to deliver gas to Iran and provide the same amount to Azerbaijan under the exchange agreement.
Turkmenistan is going to vend 5 to 6 million cubic meters of gas every day to Azerbaijan by Iran.
