(MENAFN) According to figures released by the Federal Statistical Office on Friday, Germany's import costs index rose by 21.7 percent in October in comparison with November 2020.
In a declaration, Destatis stated, "This has been the highest year-on-year change since January 1980." The yearly changes have been 17.7 percent two months ago, and 16.5 percent three months ago, according to the report. However, last month, the import costs index rose by 3.8 percent month over month.
According to Destatis, as natural gas import costs increased reaching 193.9 percent year over year last month, petroleum products import costs rose by 105.9 percent. "In October 2021, energy imports were 141 percent more expensive than in October 2020," according to the remark.
