President of Palestine, FM of Jordan to talk about issues encountering Palestinian cause


(MENAFN) On Saturday Mahmoud Abbas, President of Palestine and Ayman Safadi, Foreign Minister of Jordan met to discuss the difficulties in the way of Palestinian cause in an attempt to enhance consultation and thorough collaboration between both countries.

Riyad al-Maliki, Palestinian Foreign Minister reported in a joint news conference with Safadi after the meeting that "the current situation in the Palestinian territories and pushing forward the stalled peace process in the Middle East were the major issues that were discussed in today's meeting."

Safadi reported to the press conference that his trip came "as part of the efforts to create a real political horizon that leads to a comprehensive and just peace on the basis of the two-state solution."

He also mentioned that the foundation "embodies the establishment of an independent Palestinian state with Jerusalem as its capital on the borders of 1967."
