Commodities worth around USD2.3b to trade at Iran Mercantile Exchange


(MENAFN) In the previous Iranian calendar month (ended on November 21), 8.961 million tons of goods that value USD2.357 billion were exchanged at Iran Mercantile Exchange (IME), marking 18 percent increase in its worth and 24 percent growth regarding the weight of trades in comparison to its earlier month.

According to the reports by IME’s Public Relations and International Affairs Department, the trade sold on its metals and minerals trading floor 7.387 million tons of goods worth over USD1.42 billion.

Goods exchanged on this floor involved 5.176 million tons of cement, 1.452 million tons of steel, 521,000 tons of iron ore, 172,000 tons of sponge iron (DRI), 31,445 tons of aluminum, 30,535 of zinc, 29,100 tons of copper, 560 tons of molybdenum concentrate, 200 tons of metallurgical coke, 81 tons of precious metals concentrate along with 63 kg of gold bars.

Moreover, the exchange witnessed trade of over 1.53 million tons of goods that value nearly USD907 million on its oil and petrochemical trading floor.
