About 42m tons of commodities to discharge at Iranian harbors


(MENAFN) According to IRNA, about 42 million tons of goods have been loaded and unloaded at Iran’s harbors during the time span of three months since the new government management took on duties in August.

Based on a report published by the Transport and Urban Development Ministry, 28 million tons of the stated goods were non-oil products and the rest were crude-related goods.

Moreover, 507,000 TEUs of vessel freights were discharged and loaded at the nation's commercial harbors during the mentioned period, whereas, 11 million tons of non-oil exports, carrying more than 62.1 million tons of non-oil commodities, and the transshipment of 990,000 tons of non-oil goods were also discharged by the Ports and Maritime Organization (PMO) as one of the organizations under the Ministry of Transport and Urban Development in this time frame.

In the meantime, and as stated in previous reports, loading and unloading of commodities in the Iranian harbors increased 10.7 percent in the period from March 21 till October 22 of the current Iranian calendar year, in comparison to the corresponding time span of last year.
