WHO assembles private conference to talk over Omicron virus


(MENAFN) The World Health Organization announced a private conference to talk over a new coronavirus variant which was found in South Africa.

WHO orator Christian Lindmeier informed a UN news meeting, WHO that is carefully studying the new variant B11529 of coronavirus is "of interest or concern."

Lindmeier added "Early analysis shows that this variant has a large number of mutations that require and will undergo further study."

He further declared the new variant was discovered "at a remarkable speed," and it needs some time to recognize its effects.

The main variant of the virus in many nations, which quickly spreads is named the Delta variant.

As affirmed by Lindmeier, who did not predict when the study will end "The detection of this variant means that the surveillance system is in place and is working."
