Ukrainian President: Russia-Ukraine gas transport deal needs additional discussions

(MENAFN) Ukraine’s President Volodymyr Zelensky stated, Ukraine and Russia did not set any functional conference to talk about growing gas transport or prolonging the already-set gas transport deal.

He mentioned that the present transport deal was decided to finish in 2024, and the nation showed its preparation to enhance the transport of gas.

Ukrainian president declared, “I heard rhetoric from the Russian side that they are ready to extend the transit contract. I haven't seen anything else apart from these statements. There have been no substantive meetings between [Naftogaz] and Gazprom.”

Ukraine's National Security and Defense Council ordered the Cabinet of Ministers to review the probability of providing European nations with an extra 55 billion cubic meters of gas a year.
