(MENAFN- The Peninsula) Doha: Mohammed Saeed Haidan and Mohammed Jabor Al Naimi emerged victorious in the Medium and Small Tour competitions respectively as the fourth round of the Longines Hathab Qatar Equestrian Tour - CSN Al Shaqab kicked off at Longines Arena at Al Shaqab yesterday.
Haidan, astride his reliable grey mare Miss Chili, clinched his maiden victory in this season's Medium Tour with an error-free jump-off in 29.82 seconds. He won QR7,500 in prize money.
Before topping the 32-strong field, Haidan and the 13-year old Mare had completed one round in 68.25 secs with no faults.
Faris Saad Al Qahtani booked the second place with another flawless jump off, but was more than a second slower (30.80) than the winner.
Rashid Towaim Al Marri who guided Mira V/D Roshoeve to another impressive win, came third in 31.32 secs.
Meanwhile, French rider Cyrine Cherif and her 10-year-old stallion Brennus Villelongue completed a flawless jump-off in 31.90 secs as ExxonMobil clinched the Medium Tour Team title in the fourth round of the Tour. Rashid Towaim Al Marri (Mira V/D Roshoeve - 71.81 secs) and Saeed Nasser Al Qadi (Electra B - 73.67 secs) were the rest of the team members.
Earlier, Al Naimi and his 18-year-old stallion Naville Z were the quickest to collect 65 points in the Small Tour - Accumulator with Joker, 100/110cm event.
Al Naimi completed the task in 42.26 secs as he got richer by QR5,000 after clinching his second Small Tour win this season.
Yesterday's win was also Al Naimi's fourth podium win in as many appearances in the Small Tour in its fifth season.
Hussain Saeed Haidan came second after guiding the Lekhwiya-owned Kannada home in 43 secs while Best Of Des Forets, with champion rider Saeed Nasser Al Qadi in the saddle, secured the remaining spot on the podium after completing the round 0.76 secs slower than Haidan.
