Qatar - Justice Ministry attends conference on the use of AI in courts

(MENAFN- The Peninsula) Doha: The Ministry of Justice participated yesterday in an international conference on the use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in courts and legal affairs. The conference was organised by the General Secretariat of the GCC in cooperation with the International Group of Artificial Intelligence, on the sidelines of the Expo 2020 Dubai.

Head of the Ministry's delegation to the meeting, Ahmed Hassan Jassim Al Kuwari, who is also Assistant Undersecretary for the Ministers' Office and acting Assistant Undersecretary for Legal Affairs, stressed the importance of this conference given the novelty of this concept, which has not been implemented in practice. He said that employing AI in the justice system could facilitate legal procedures to improve efficiency and accuracy in various legal uses.

He highlighted that the Ministry of Justice, under supervision from Minister of Justice H E Masoud bin Mohammed Al Ameri, is working on an ambitious plan for the Qatari legal system's digital transformation. He stressed that the use of Artificial Intelligence will be an integral part of that plan.
