Internal Auditors Qatar Board members attend Arab leaders meet


(MENAFN- The Peninsula) Anthony Pugliese, the president and CEO of IIA Global, invited Arab leaders to attend a workshop on the new strategic goals for the IIA and how to align and operationalize together across the global IIA network.

A day-long session provided in-depth discussions, deliberations, feedback, and clarifications. It was an overview of the Institute's roadmap for the future.

“The world is changing, and we must upskill the entire profession. The IIA is announcing a new strategy, developing new standards, and introducing a new framework to ensure that our profession is evolving with times,” said Anthony.

Pugliese discussed the strategic planning context with the affirmation,“We see a bright future for a vital and growing internal audit profession.” He talked about the macro trends underway, how to move associations forward, and the Internal Audit view of top risks. Internal audit purpose, vision, and six strategic goals were elucidated in terms of Where are we now? Where do we want to go? How will we get there, and How will we measure success? 2021 strategic planning timeline for Key milestones indicated an action plan for implementation.

“The IIA Chapters' engagement to support local alignment with the global strategic plan was a key aspect of training. Regional leaders presented their unique challenges with the respective chapter's readiness and support needed to achieve. Qatar Chapter always represented important international and regional events as prominent contributors to the Internal Audit profession. A special thanks to IIA -UAE and its Chairman Abdulqader Obied Ali for organizing this event,” said Sundaresan Rajeswar, the IIA Doha Board member.

Anthony visited the UAE to address the 10th Chief Audit Executive Conference 2021, themed“Beyond all barriers,” held at Atlantis, The Palm Hotel, Dubai. The conference was held face-to-face with high caliber speakers, with the most current topics such as ESG audit, Intelligent Automation, Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, digital transformation, Auditor to a Prosecutor, Robotic Process Automation, Fintex, Audit 2050, etc. About 300 Chief Auditors attended the event
