Body of Bengal Resident Recovered from River Jhelum in Srinagar

Srinagar- The body of a 27-year-old West Bengal resident was on Thursday recovered from river Jhelum in Safa Kadal area of Srinagar.

Police said that a 27-year-old youth from West Bengal, was found floating in Jhelum river by locals at Ghasi Mohalla area of Safakadal on Thursday afternoon.

The body was fished out and later handed to local police for medico-legal formalities, they said.

Unconfirmed reports said the youth had jumped into river Jhelum near Zero bridge, Srinagar on November 07 at around 04 pm.

Meanwhile, a case under section 309 has been registered at Police Station Kothi Bagh and further investigations are on.
