Customs thwart attempt to smuggle over 7,000 narcotic pills into Qatar


(MENAFN- The Peninsula) Doha: The Department of Maritime Customs thwarted an attempt to smuggle a huge amount of banned narcotic pills into the country.

The Customs department shared photos, on its social media platforms, of the prohibited captagon narcotic pills which were seized at Al Ruwais Port after inspection of a refrigerator truck engine.

There were 7,330 pills seized during the inspection. 

The authorities have been issuing continuous warnings against carrying illegal substances into the country.

Customs officers are provided with all means of support including the latest devices and continuous training to read the body language of passengers and be aware of the latest methods followed by smugglers.
