Hungary to offer 400 annual scholarships for Jordanian students


(MENAFN- Jordan Times) AMMAN — Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research Wajih Owais and Hungarian Minister for Foreign Affairs and Trade Peter Szijjarto on Wednesday signed two memoranda of understanding (MoU).

The first MoU covers educational and scientific cooperation for 2022-2024 and the second addresses cooperation within the framework of the Hungarian Scholarship Programme, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported. 

Under the first MoU, the two sides agreed to enhance cooperation based on the 1978 agreement on cultural and scientific cooperation. 

Both sides agreed to encourage direct relations among the two countries' concerned higher education institutions to exchange students, faculty members, higher education employees, researchers, trainers and scientists.

They also agreed to encourage the two countries' higher education institutions to start cooperation projects within the framework of the Erasmus Plus programme.

As for the second agreement, the Hungarian side will annually provide 400 scholarships for Jordanian students to continue their studies in Hungary.

In this regard, 250 scholarships per year will be allocated for bachelor's degrees in various disciplines, 50 others for master's degrees in all specialties and 50 for bachelor's degrees in medical and health sciences fields.

Moreover, Hungary provides 50 scholarships for the PhD degree in any of the available fields.
