Jordan - 26 Covid-19 deaths, 4,549 infections recorded Tuesday


(MENAFN- Jordan News Agency) Amman, Nov. 23 (Petra) -- The Ministry of Health said Tuesday that it recorded 26 coronavirus deaths and 4,549 infections across the Kingdom, bringing the death toll from the pandemic to 11,403 and the caseload to 923,722.
According to the ministry's daily brief, the positivity rate for the day was at 9.79 per cent.
It said that the number of currently active cases reached 42,779 with 180 admitted to hospitals today, adding that 95 cases have been discharged. It said that the total number of confirmed cases that are now hospitalized reached 936.
According to the daily report, the occupancy rate of isolation beds in the northern region was 27 per cent, intensive care beds was 53 per cent and ventilators 29 per cent.
The occupancy rate of isolation beds in the central region was at 26 percent, intensive care beds 38 per cent and ventilators 15 per cent, it said.
In the southern region, the occupancy rate of isolation beds was at 14 per cent, intensive care beds 27 per cent and ventilators 18 per cent, it said.
The ministry said that 2,503 Covid-19 patients have recovered, bringing the total number of expected recoveries by the end of the 14-day isolation period to 869,540.
It also said that 46,486 PCR tests were conducted today, bringing the total number of swab tests that had been collected since the beginning of the pandemic to 11,840,048.
Some 4,094,047 received the first COVID-19 jab, while 3,694,891 received the two jabs, the brief added.
