(MENAFN- Jordan Times) AMMAN — Her Majesty Queen Rania on Tuesday met with Sheikha Fatima Bint Mubarak, chairwoman of the General Women's Union, the Supreme Council for Motherhood and Childhood, and the Family Development Foundation,“Umm Al Emarat”, in Abu Dhabi.
The meeting took place while Her Majesty accompanied His Majesty King Abdullah on a working visit to the UAE, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.
Sheikha Fatima welcomed Her Majesty at the Bahr Palace and expressed her wishes of progress and prosperity to the Kingdom and the Jordanian people.
Sheikha Fatima also acquainted Queen Rania with the UAE's achievements in the field of women's empowerment to become a major contributor in the process of development and prosperity, emphasising the importance of cooperation and the exchange of expertise, especially in development fields.
Queen Rania commended Sheikha Fatima's efforts towards women's empowerment and support for family and childcare institutions.
Talks during the meeting also covered Jordanian-Emirati relations, notably relating to women, children and young people.
Sheikha Fatima also hosted a banquet in honour of the Queen.
