Oman, Qatar sign agreements on many sectors including military collaboration


(MENAFN) On Monday, Oman’s Sultan Haitham of Oman contracted agreements on military collaboration, taxation, tourism, ports, labor as well as investment in Doha at the beginning of a two-day trip to Qatar.

Sultan Haitham was encountered by Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani of Qatar at the Doha International Airport tarmac. The partners later swapped state honors.

Sheikh Tamim was awarded the Civil Order of Oman of the first degree, one of the highest decorations of Oman given to kings and heads of state whose nations have special ties with the sultanate.

In return, Sultan Haitham was awarded with the Order of the Founder's Sword, Counted to be the highest Qatari honor. Monday's conference indicates Sultan Haitham's second overseas trip since becoming a ruler in January 2020. His first visit was to Saudi Arabia during July, when he encountered King Salman.
