Iran, Iraq to advance mutual relations in agriculture sector


(MENAFN) On Sunday IRNA reported based on an announcement by an official with Iran’s Agriculture Ministry, Iran and Iraq are aiming to grow mutual ties in several agricultural sectors.

The Agriculture Ministry’s Director-General for Specialized Organizations and International Affairs, Alimorad Sarafrazi expressed while having a conversation with Naseer Abdul Mohsen Abdullah, Iraqi Ambassador to Tehran during a conference, the close-knit ties between both nations and emphasized the necessity to arrange several specified working groups in the sector of agriculture.

He then mentioned a few difficulties and hindrances that stand in the way of trade ties between both nations and expressed that advancing and creating procedures for plant quarantine, checking livestock health at shared borders of both countries, forming unity of technique at distinct border crossings between both nations and also improving infrastructures for transferring goods between the Iraq and Iran appear to be crucial in that matter.
