Bangladesh Delegation in Ankara marks Military Day


(MENAFN) On Sunday, The Bangladeshi Delegation in Turkey held a reception in the capital Ankara to celebrate Bangladesh’s 50th anniversary of Military Day.

In line with Diplomat Mosud Mannan during his speech "This year Bangladesh is celebrating the 'golden jubilee' of its independence and the birth centenary of the father of the nation of Bangladesh Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, like (Mustafa) Kemal Ataturk of Turkey. The birth centenary of Bangabandhu coincides this year with the 50 years of glorious independence."

He as well stressed that Bangladesh was Turkish second-biggest business collaborator in South Asia following India, with sum of trade rate at USd1.2 billion, and said that Bangladesh had been the fourth main client of Turkey’s defense goods.

Mannan went on to say that "Bangladesh has recently been uplifted to the status of a lower middle-income country in the World Bank Index and at present moving forward confidently to become a developed country by 2041 overcoming the challenges of the coronavirus pandemic."
