Jordan - Rainfall forecast almost countrywide to Sunday-JMD


(MENAFN- Jordan News Agency) Amman, Nov.20 (Petra)- Mercury will see a "significant" plunge Saturday and downpour is forecast in the Kingdom's northern and central areas and limited swathes of the southern and eastern regions, Jordan Meteorological Department (JMD) said in its daily update.
Downpour during the daytime is expected to be heavy sometimes for limited periods in the Kingdom's northern and central western regions, which could be sometimes accompanied by thunder, the JMD pointed out.
In its report, the JMD warns of the danger of flood formation in the valleys and low areas in Jordan's north and central western regions.
The department also warned of slippery roads during downpour, and low horizontal visibility due to low clouds and dust in the Badia regions.
According to the report, the Kingdom will remain under the influence of the state of atmospheric instability and rain showers are forecast occasionally in different areas countrywide.
Also on Saturday, mercury in Amman will range between 15 Celsius degrees, dropping into 9 C at night, while the Gulf of Aqaba will see a fair 16C, dipping into 16C during night hours.
