Shaanan Cohney


(MENAFN- The Conversation) Dr. Shaanan Cohney is a Lecturer in Cybersecurity at the University of Melbourne and a research affiliate of Princeton University's Center for IT Policy. His research focuses on the intersection of cybersecurity and public policy, trying to find ways to make sure that technology is serving the public good.

In past roles he served as a cybersecurity advisor to U.S. Senator Ron Wyden and placed at the U.S. Federal Trade Commission to work on antitrust.

Shaanan's research has received recognition in the form of the Best Paper Award at ACM CCS and an 'Pwnie' Award for best Cryptographic Attack, along with stories in the NYTimes, The Guardian, The BBC and many more. He is also the recipient of the Excellence in Tutoring Award from the University of Melbourne.
