8 dead after mini-bus collapses into gorge in Indian-ruled Kashmir

(MENAFN) Police stated that on Thursday, Oct. 28 eight persons as a minimum lost their lives and many others were wounded after a mini-bus transporting them collapsed into a gorge in Indian-ruled Kashmir.

The mishap occurred in the mountainous Sui Gowari area of Doda district, around 235 km south of Srinagar city, the summer capital of Indian-controlled Kashmir.

A police officer said to Xinhua: "today a mini-bus carrying passengers skidded off the road and fell into a gorge near Sui Gowari area here," adding: "eight people were killed on the spot and nearly a dozen others injured, some of them critically, in the accident."

The police stated that the wounded were shifted to different hospitals.
