Kabul: Iranian Foreign Minister Hosain Amir Abdulahian has called on the Taliban to include all ethnic groups in their cabinet and form an all-inclusive government.

In his talks with Pakistani foreign minister Mahmood Qureshi in the sidelines of Tehran summit on Afghanistan, Abdulahian said they are in contact with all stakeholders in Afghanistan and that they are watching the situation on tenterhooks.

The Iranian foreign minister acknowledged that his country will continue providing humanitarian aid to the people of Afghanistan as it prevents mass displacement and immigration.

The statements come as Iran is hosting a regional gathering on Afghanistan to which the Taliban have not been invited.

Earlier, Iran had suggested the Taliban cooperate with them in ensuring security in Afghanistan that was not given a green signal by the latter.
