Ukrainian miners extract 6.6% more coal than planned in Jan-Sept 2021


(MENAFN- UkrinForm) In January-September 2021, Ukrainian mining enterprises of all forms of ownership produced 21.816 million tonnes of coal, which is 6.5% more than planned, Ukrinform reports, referring to data provided by the Ministry of Energy.

Compared to the same period in 2020, Ukraine's coal production rose by 787.8 thousand tonnes.

In particular, the enterprises of the Ministry of Energy extracted 4.406 million tonnes of coal over the reporting period, which is 2.368 million tonnes more than in January-September 2020.

In September, Ukrainian mines extracted 2.136 million tonnes of coal, which is 502.9 thousand tonnes less than in September 2020. The September production plan was 88.3% fulfilled.

The enterprises of the Ministry of Energy extracted 384.7 thousand tonnes of coal last month, which is 145.6 thousand tonnes more than in September 2020. At the same time, the production plan was 64.9% fulfilled.

As reported, as of October 25, 2021, there were 701.3 thousand tonnes of coal in the warehouses of Ukrainian thermal power plants (TPPs) and combined heat and power plants (CHPPs), which is 6.9% less than compared to October 18, 2021.
