(MENAFN) on Tuesday, Turkey's benchmark stock index closed at 1,509.20 points, increased 1.09 percent from the last day, to close more than the 1,500 level for the first time since March 19.
Borsa Istanbul's BIST 100 index increased 16.27 points from Monday's close of 1,492.93 points, after opening the day at 1,501.17 points.
During the day, the index's lowest value stood at 1,501.17 points and its daily high reached 1,512.74 points.
The total market rate of the BIST 100 stood at over 1.19 trillion Turkish liras (USD122.3 billion) by market close, with a daily trading rate of over 21 billion Turkish liras (USD2.22 billion).
A total of 77 stocks on the index increased, 18 dropped, and five remained unchanged in comparison to Monday's close.
