São Paulo – Photographer Bruno Bou Hay (pictured) launched his book on Lebanon in São Paulo and Rio de Janeiro last week. The book Deus também descansa [Portuguese for“God Also Rests”] was based on a trip to the Arab country his family came from. The book features pictures taken on his visit to Lebanon in 2019 and the personal archive of his grandparents as well as texts in Portuguese, English and Arabic.

The work was out from publishing house Vento Leste early this year. The launch in São Paulo took place in Bar do Beco at Vila Madalena and in Rio de Janeiro in Retrato Espaço Cultural. Preceding the events, Haya hosted a livestream last week with historian and Arab Brazilian Chamber of Commerce (ABCC) cultural director Silvia Antibas and journalist and columnist Diogo Bercito.
