Al Thumama inauguration witnesses three creative chapters

(MENAFN- The Peninsula) QNA Doha: The inauguration ceremony of Al Thumama Stadium, the 2022 FIFA World Cup Qatar sixth venue, witnessed three creative chapters that confirm Qatar's successful strategy and its ability to give the world the most spectacular version of the largest football event.

The Supreme Committee for Delivery and Legacy (SC), the body responsible for delivering the infrastructure projects necessary for Qatar's hosting of the World Cup, organised a series of community activities on the way to preparing for HH the Amir Cup final, including visits by the SC team to a number of Qatari family majlises in Al Thumama area, to familiarize the residents of the area with the plans for the upcoming event, in addition to organizing events in cooperation with the National Museum of Qatar and the Friends of the Environment Center.

The second chapter was the opening ceremony, which was characterized by accurate organization, including the 40,000 fans' entry and exit and the reception of local, Arab and international dignitaries who were keen to witness the opening of a new 2022 World Cup stadium.

The viewers, whether in the stadium or front of TV screens in Qatar and around the world, enjoyed impressive visual and musical performances and shows, which constituted an unforgettable masterpiece of entertainment broadcast to the audience, who interacted greatly.

The third chapter was the final between Al Sadd and Al Rayyan, which started after playing the national anthem and launching fireworks in the sky of Al Thumama Stadium.

Al Sadd won the Amir Cup for the 18th time in their history.
