(MENAFN) Official figures revealed that the Chinese garment sector recorded higher proceeds and income during the January-August period of this year.
The Ministry of Industry and Information Technology stated that during the cited period, the combined operating proceeds of 12,520 key garment firms hit 905.6 billion yuan (around USD141.43 billion), a rise by 9.6 percent year over year.
Total income of these firms climbed 9.5 percent from a year ago hitting about USD 6,20 billion during the period, whereas the combined production grew 12.9 percent year over year to 15.2 billion pieces.
China’s exports of garments and accessories soared 28.1 percent year over year reaching USD105.7 billion.
