Turkey's daily electricity consumption drops 0.4 percent on Thursday


(MENAFN) Official figures of Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) declared that, Turkey's daily electricity consumption on Thursday fell by 0.4 percent in comparison to the previous day, amounting at 873,536 megawatt-hours.

According to data from TEIAS, hourly power consumption stood at 40,953 megawatt-hours at 12.00 local time (0900 GMT). The country's electricity usage declined to the lowest level of 29,722 megawatt-hours at 5.00 a.m. local time (0200 GMT).

On Thursday, electricity production stood at 874,250 megawatt-hours, registering a 0.34 percent decline compared to Wednesday.

Furthermore; Turkey's electricity production from natural gas plants established 45.3 percent of total electricity consumption and imported coal plants contributed 13.1 percent as lignite plants included 12.2 percent.
