First-ever TEDx Doha Institute kicks off


(MENAFN- The Peninsula) The eagerly anticipated first TEDx at the Doha Institute for Graduate Studies (DI) on the theme of“Celebrating our Diversity” took place yesterday at DI main auditorium. The day-long event included nine speakers – students, alumnus and members of the wider community that help share ideas in communities around the world in the form of short, powerful talks.

Asmaa Alhamadi was the host of the event that included nine speakers who gave short presentations, all with the theme of inspiring young people to achieve their dreams.

Dean of Student Affairs, Dr. Ibrahim Freihat stressed the importance of organising such events with universal dimension at the Institute, noting the efforts to generate the conference was important in developing the experience and skills of students and participants through its various activities, which were based on sharing experiences, creative ideas, success stories, launching capacities and disseminating ideas.

“This event comes within the framework of providing an opportunity for young people to develop, motivate, and continue refining their talents, and inspire the community by exchanging ideas and discussing problems, aspirations and experiences with a modern vision,” he added. 

The list of speakers included students from the Doha Institute consist of Fatma Lulu, Faozi Alghuwaidi, Ghizlane Hanane, Mwaffaq Alhajjar, Anas Abu Samhan, Mohammad Al Kaabi, clinical psychologist with, Dr. Anwar Dafa Allah, founder of TEDx conferences in Sudan, Bouchra Sebbata, Assistant General Manager - Head of Private Banking, Dr. Ghizlane Bendriss, assistant professor of Biology at Weill Cornell Medicine Qatar.
