This total figure in potential trade and investment was garnered from 14 Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs), three Letters of Intent (LoIs) and two Memorandums of Cooperation (MoCs) between fourteen Malaysian companies and their foreign counterparts.
The foreign companies are based in China, Egypt, India, Iran, Oman, Qatar, the United Kingdom, United Arab Emirates and the United States of America.
The MoUs cover the areas of blockchain and Internet of Things, oil and gas, robotic and automation hatchery of freshwater aquatic creatures and biotechnology research, entrepreneurship within the technology-intensive sectors; advisory services; technology transfer and training in unmanned aerial vehicle solutions; thermal and ultrasound technology, as well as in R & D and herbal extraction technologies.
Meanwhile, the LoIs and MoCs cover the fabrication of 1,000 modular units of green smart homes; exclusive distributorship of unmanned surface vessels; artificial intelligence (AI) driven agriculture systems, and predictive maintenance of project solutions.
This is a positive outcome came in the first two weeks of Malaysia's participation at the expo as the country begin its economic recovery post-COVID-19.
The momentum is expected to maintain for the next 25 weeks, anchored by various ministries and agencies, including state governments.
Malaysia Pavilion at Expo 2020 Dubai which has been designed as a Rainforest Canopy and themed 'Energising Sustainability' has recorded approximately 50,000 visitors from October 1st to October 14th, 2021.
Malaysia is also confident of surpassing its total target of between RM8 billion to RM10 billion in trade business leads at this six-month long expo.
Heartfelt congratulations are due to the Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation (MOSTI) for leading the country's participation in Expo 2020 Dubai and Malaysian Green Technology and Climate Change Centre (MGTC) as the implementing agency for this project.

ABOUT MALAYSIA PAVILION AT EXPO2020 DUBAI :
Malaysia's self-built 1,234.05 sq meter pavilion is the first net zero carbon pavilion at the EXPO. The Pavilion features a rainforest canopy inspired by the majestic tropical rainforest of Malaysia, blending cultural elements with nature and functionality into a futuristic building.
The Pavilion carries the theme“Energising Sustainability” to represent the nation's commitment and approach to sustainable development. It is segmented into four sub-themes; “Energising Today”, “Energising Tomorrow”,“Energising Harmony” and“Energising Business”. Malaysia's activities during the EXPO will include permanent 3D displays, daily cultural performances, craft demonstrations, café operations as well as 26 weekly thematic trade and business programmes.
The business weeks will involve a large contingent of 21 ministries, 70 agencies and five state governments initiating and supporting the programmes. They will also bring weekly business delegations from the industry that will participate in pocket talks, product launches, business matching sessions and signing of MoUs. Malaysia Pavilion will also host and participate in summits and forums throughout Expo.
The Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation is the lead ministry for Malaysia's participation at the mega event. Malaysian Green Technology and Climate Change Corporation (MGTC) is the implementing agency.
