(MENAFN) According to the Turkish president, Turkey never sees cooperation with African countries as short-term.
During a news conference at the Ataturk Airport in Istanbul before departing for Angola's capital Luanda, the president made the remarks. Also as part of his four-day Africa tour, is due to visit Togo and Nigeria.
Recep Tayyip Erdogan further declared that "I have made 38 visits to 28 African countries, including during my Prime Ministry term. This trip is also important as it is the first official visit from Turkey at the presidential level to Angola and Togo."
The official also stated that they are going to continue to bring Turkey and Africa closer in every field.
Erdogan also noted, Turkey shows as a strategic partner for African countries, with a USD25 billion trade rate by the end of the previous year.
