Doha: The Ministry of Transport and Communications (MoTC) has completed 5,844 transactions through its Land Transport Sector in three quarters of 2021.
The Ministry of Transport and Communications has announced, on its Twitter account, completion of 1,967 transactions by Land Transport Sector in Q3 of 2021. Earlier it had completed 2,177 and 1,700 transactions in the first and second quarters of 2021 respectively.
In the third quarter out of total 1,967 transactions; 929 transactions are related to land transport licensing, 926 related to land transport planning and 112 transactions are related to traffic engineering and road safety.
Land transport has become a key enabler of the Qatari economy and a cornerstone of its growth, and the Land Transport Sector continues its efforts to develop a state-of-the-art transport network in line with the goals of the Qatar National Vision 2030, MoTC says on its website.
The mission of the Ministry of Transport and Communications (MoTC) consists of building an integrated and effective transport system that uses advanced technologies serving all local sectors while linking Qatar to the wider regional and international economy.
Meanwhile, the Ministry of Transport and Communications has also revealed completion of 3,443 transactions by Maritime Transport Affairs in Q3 of 2021.
Earlier in the first and second quarters of this year, the department of Maritime Transport Affairs had conducted 3,537 and 4,382 transactions respectively. Collectively 11,362 transactions have been completed in three quarters of 2021.
The Maritime Transport Sector is committed to developing and modernising the sector in line with MoTC strategic plans aiming at ensuring a safe maritime navigation that meets all safety requirements and obligations, and keeping pace with international maritime developments through creative and effective application of international maritime instruments and observation of emerging trends and latest publications.
The Maritime Transport Sector is also working on developing the legal framework for maritime activities, and enhancing the technical and administrative aspects of inspection, examination, control and investigation related to accidents.
As part of Ministry's efforts to achieve the strategic objectives of Qatar's National Vision 2030, the Maritime Transport Sector maintains a close relationship with the International Maritime Organization (IMO) and runs constant reviews of national legislation to ensure their compliance with relevant international legislation in the best interests of the State of Qatar. Furthermore, the Sector continuously strengthens coordination and cooperation ties with different stakeholders through participation in international meetings and working groups.
