Ukrainian soldier wounded amid eight enemy attacks in JFO area


(MENAFN- UkrinForm) Over the past day, October 15, eight ceasefire violations by the armed formations of the Russian Federation were recorded in the Joint Forces Operation (JFO) area in eastern Ukraine, the JFO press center wrote on Facebook.

"Near Novozvanivka, the enemy fired twice, using 120mm mortars and an anti-tank missile system. Not far from Zolote-4, mercenaries fired twice, using 120mm mortars and small arms. In the Avdiivka area, occupiers fired from 82mm mortars at our positions. In the direction of Novotoshkivske, the enemy opened fire from an anti-tank missile system and easel anti-tank grenade launchers. Positions of Ukrainian soldiers near Krasnohorivka came under fire from large-caliber machine guns and anti-tank grenade launchers. Near Lebedynske, the enemy used 120mm mortars,” the report says.

As a result of enemy shelling, one Ukrainian soldier was wounded.  He was taken to a medical facility; his health status is satisfactory.

It is noted that Ukrainian defenders returned fire to the enemy's armed provocations, using weapons not banned by the Minsk agreements.

As of 7 a.m. on October 16, no ceasefire violation was recorded.

"The situation in the Joint Forces Operation area remains under control. Ukrainian units continue to perform assigned tasks,” the JFO headquarters said.
