6 Covid fatalities, 573 cases registered Saturday


(MENAFN- Jordan News Agency) Amman, Oct 16 (Petra) –– Six coronavirus fatalities and 573 infections with the virus were recorded across the Kingdom Saturday, raising the death toll from the pandemic to 10,865 and the infections tally to 840,117, according to the Ministry of Health.
The positivity rate of 18,190 PCR tests collected in the last 24 hours reached 3.15 per cent, the ministry said in its daily report.
It said that the number of currently active Covid-19 cases reached 14,872, including 62 that were admitted to hospitals today, and that 45 were discharged, while the total number of cases being hospitalized reached 492.
It said that the occupancy rate of isolation beds in the northern region was 9 per cent, intensive care beds 30 per cent and respirators 13 per cent.
In the central region, the occupancy rate of isolation beds was 12 per cent, intensive care beds 23 per cent, and respirators 8 per cent, it said.
In the southern region, the occupancy rate of isolation beds was 10 per cent, intensive care beds 16 per cent and respirators 14 per cent, the ministry said.
It also recorded 1,037 cases of recovery, bringing the total number of expected recoveries after the end of the two-week isolation period to 814,380.
The report showed that 3,817,869 people have received the first dose of vaccines and 3,408,756 got double vaccinated.
