(MENAFN) The Azerbaijani Defense Ministry stated that an Azerbaijani civilian convoy of cars holding non-military commodities for establishing civil infrastructure came under fire from "illegal Armenian armed detachments" near the Gozlukorpu settlement in the Kalbajar region of Karabakh.
The ministry further declared that the convoy that was directing from the Sugovushan settlement of the Tartar region to the Kalbajar region was attacked around 1000GMT.
It also stated that the car of the Military Automobile Inspectorate of the Military Police of the Azerbaijan Army that was at the front of the convoy, was destroyed due to the shooting, but no deaths or injuries were reported.
It is "inadmissible" for Armenian armed objectivities to subject to shoot a convoy of civilian vehicles accompanied by Russian peacekeepers to reestablish civilian infrastructure in the territories liberated from the thirty-year occupation by Armenian forces, the official added.
