Moscow: Religious presidents of Russia, Azerbaijan, Armenia assemble


(MENAFN) Patriarch Kirill of Moscow, Chairman of Caucasian Muslims Office in Azerbaijan Allahshukur Pashazade, and Armenian religious president Catholics Karekin II planned a trilateral conference in Moscow.

Patriarch Kirill stated during the conference that religions can bring peace amid ethnic groups “no matter how difficult relations between Azerbaijan and Armenia are at this stage.

He added "We believe that faith and love for God will heal the wounds caused by the tragic conflict that has lasted for many years," while mentioning Nagorno-Karabakh, a territory globally known as part of Azerbaijan, however, was controlled by Armenia since 1991.

On 27th September 2020, new clashes exploded that lasted for 44 days, both nations reached a Russian-brokered contract in November last year to stop the war and work to a complete resolution.
