Nigeria: Petrol tanker blast leaves 3 dead


(MENAFN) On Wednesday, Oct. 13 an official stated that three persons lost their lives and antoher two were wounded when a petrol tanker blasted in northeast Nigeria's Adamawa state.

The victims were burnt to death in a petrol tanker blaze outburst in Mubi area of the state early Wednesday, Mohammed Sulaiman, executive secretary of the Adamawa State Emergency Management Agency, said to reporters at a press meeting in Yola, the state capital.

Sulaiman noted: "so far, three people lost their lives and two sustained injuries from fire burns and they are receiving medical treatment in the Mubi General Hospital," further saying a probe is ongoing to discover the reason of the blast.

The official urged petroleum products dealers in the state to, as a matter of safety, avert operating in "odd hours."
