Turkey suggests to form working group on Afghanistan in G20

(MENAFN) Turkish Premier Recep Tayyip Erdogan offered to form a working group on Afghanistan within the G20, and stated that his country is set to accept the chairmanship of the group.

The president also declared “Ensuring security and stability in Afghanistan as soon as possible is of critical importance not only at the regional but also the global level,” during the G20 unexpected conference on Afghanistan through video meeting from Vahdettin Mansion in Istanbul.

Moreover, Erdogan stressed that despite the political process, it must present strong unity with the Afghani because of the humanitarian crisis that is improving in Afghanistan.

He went on to say "The international community does not have the luxury of turning its back on the Afghan people and leaving this country to its own fate."

In addition, the president underlined that Turkey intends to achieve its "duty of brotherhood" for the Afghani during these hard times.
