(MENAFN) On Tuesday, Oct. 12 the specialized technical committees from Jordan and Israel conducted a gathering which concluded in inking another water purchase deal.
The Jordanian Water Ministry stated in a declaration that based on the deal, Jordan can yearly purchase another 50 million cubic meters of water from Israel.
It added that under the Jordanian-Israeli peace agreement, Jordan can yearly receive 50 million cubic meters of water from Lake Tiberias.
Israel decided during July to provide Jordan with 50 million cubic meters of additionally bought water in an assembly between Jordan’s Foreign Minister Ayman Safadi and his Israeli counterpart Yair Lapid on the Jordanian side of the King Hussein Bridge.
