Eneos to purchase Japan Renewable Energy firm for USD1.8B

(MENAFN) On Monday, Oct. 11 Japan's largest refiner, Eneos Holdings Inc, stated it would purchase Japan Renewable Energy (JRE) for around USD1.8 billion to enlarge its low-carbon trade, linking a list of chief worldwide firms shifting away from climate-changing fossil oils.

Eneos, which seeks to have net-zero emissions by 2040, will purchase JRE from Goldman Sachs and Singaporean independent affluence trust GIC.

It reported the pact, which celebrates the first huge purchase of a sustainable company by a leading Japanese fuel firm, would aid it in encountering its goal of obtaining more than 1,000 megawatts (MW) of renewables in Japan and overseas by March 2023.
