NCA participates in 6th Singapore International Cyber Week (SICW)


(MENAFN- Saudi Press Agency) Singapore, Oct. 10, 2021, SPA -- The National CyberSecurity Authority (NCA) has taken part in the virtual ministerial session which was concluded on Friday, October 8, 2021 within the 6th Singapore International Cyber Week (SICW), organized by Singapore Cyber Security Agency.
The session was attended by several cybersecurity leaders, including Chris Ingles, Director of National Cyber Security at the White House in the USA, Minister for the Middle East & North Africa in the Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office, UK, Vice Minister for Policy Coordination (International Affairs) at the Japanese Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications (MIC), Raul Rick, Director of the National Cyber Security Department at the Estonian Ministry of Economic Affairs and Communications, and Josephine Teo, Minister for Communications and Information of Singapore.
The session discussed how cybersecurity leaders can benefit from the development of the cybersecurity sector, in addition to how to exploit opportunities and overcome risks resulting from the rapid technological changes taking place in the world, as well as focussing on the importance of enhancing cooperation between the public and private sectors to achieve safer cyberspace.
NCA Governor Majid bin Mohammad Al-Mazyad, underlined the impact of the coronavirus pandemic on the increase in cyber-attacks globally, praising the efforts made by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to protect its cyberspace, adding that cooperation in the field of cyber security requires cooperation among countries, and citing the importance of concerted efforts at the global level to reduce cyber-attacks and gain access to a secure and reliable global cyberspace.
Al-Mazyad cited the Kingdom's initiative of the International Cyber Security Forum which represents a global platform that brings together leaders, decision-makers, and presidents from around the world to discuss the latest developments related to cybersecurity issues.
After the session, Al-Mazyad invited the participants to attend the second edition of the forum, which will be held on the first and second of February 2022.
