Unvaccinated visitors under 11 allowed from ' Exceptional Red List' countries

(MENAFN- Gulf Times) * Kids under 11 from these countries to undergo 2 days' hotel quarantine with vaccinated family members

Fully vaccinated visitors to Qatar with visas of all kinds, and coming from any of the nine 'Exceptional Red List' countries, have to undergo two days' hotel quarantine, according to Qatar's new Travel and Return Policy.

Also, the revised policy allows unvaccinated non-resident children, aged 11 and below, from these countries to visit Qatar.

The two-day hotel quarantine rule applies to such children, too, and they must be accompanied by at least one fully vaccinated family member.

The countries on this list are India, the Philippines, Nepal, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Pakistan, Indonesia, Kenya and Sudan.

The new travel policy comes into effect at 2pm arrival time in Qatar on Wednesday.

For visitors from the nine countries, the following categories will be subject to hotel quarantine for two days, according to the Ministry of Public Health website:

* People aged 12 years and above who are fully vaccinated.

* Children aged 11 years and below (non-vaccinated) accompanied by one or both of their parents/family members who are fully vaccinated.

They have to undergo a PCR test with a negative result 72 hours before arrival in Qatar.

After arrival, they will have a PCR test at the quarantine hotel.

Also, there will be a serology antibody test at the quarantine hotel for people vaccinated outside Qatar with one of the vaccines approved by the ministry.

Entry is not allowed for unvaccinated travellers above the age of 11 from these nine countries.
