Ukraine has sufficient gas stocks ahead of winter - Ukrtransgaz

(MENAFN- UkrinForm) Ukraine is approaching the heating season with sufficient gas stocks in its underground storage facilities to ensure a stable 2021-2022 heating season, according to the press service of JSC Ukrtransgaz.

“As of October 1, 2021, the Ukrainian gas storage operator has already accumulated 18.7 billion cubic meters of gas in underground storage facilities. For comparison, at the beginning of the heating seasons from 2011 to 2019, the average injection level of gas storage facilities reached 17.9 billion cubic meters, whereas the minimum level fell to 14.5 billion cubic meters in 2016," the report says.

Currently, the gas storage operator continues to pump gas into the underground storage facilities. The duration of the injection period in October will depend on weather conditions and air temperature in Ukraine.

In September 2021, Ukraine's underground gas storage facilities received 0.7 billion cubic meters, which is 3.4 times less than in September 2020.
