Seven Qatar national team players sign new contracts with Warriors Cricket Club


(MENAFN- Gulf Times) Qatar Cricket Association Premier League defending champions Warriors Cricket Club have signed fresh players contract for the new season.
The Warriors who started off their season with a win on Friday, have seven members who are part of the Qatar national team which will be taking part in the Western region Asia qualifiers for 2022 ICC Men's T20 World Cup, hosted by Qatar from next month.
All the players are excited to sign on the dotted line and are looking forward to shine in the upcoming local competitions as well in the regional and international events.
Among the players who have signed new contracts is Qatar captain Iqbal Hussain
Choudhry.
“It is after five years I am making a move to a new club, looking forward to excel under the Warriors banner,” said Iqbal, who moved to Warriors from Misnad Al Galfar.
“I learnt a few things in Galfar Al Misnad and hopefully I will learn a few more things at Warriors,” added Iqbal after signing the contract.
Besides Iqbal, six other national team players who signed for Warriors included Assad Borham, Murad Khan, Imal Liyanage, Andri Berenger, Mohamed Ikram and Kamran Khan.
The other members of the squad are Adnan Mirza, Amir Raja, Hari Unnikrishnan, Imraz Rafi, Owais Ahmed, Aneesh Kakkot, Sadiq NM, Sayyufi, Jayden Fernando.
The team is managed by Kushal Kumar and Saman Fonseka is
the coach.
