Weddings planners adapt to pandemic measures

(MENAFN- Jordan Times) AMMAN — The COVID-19 pandemic has immensely affected the wedding industry and influenced couples' preferences when planning a wedding, according to a stakeholder.

“The situation is getting better day by day, but things take time especially after being one of the most extremely impacted sectors because of the pandemic,” said Mamun Al Manaseer, president of the Wedding Venues and Planning Businesses Association.

Manaseer also noted that there are strict celebration measures and social distancing requirements in place, in order to mitigate the spread of COVID-19.

“Intimate weddings with the presence of only core people are here to stay. Jordanians have embraced the changes brought by the crisis,” Yasmeen Mohammed, a Jordanian wedding planner, told The Jordan Times on Saturday.

“Planning a wedding amid a global pandemic was for sure something different,” said Nada Ali, a Jordanian who got married a month ago.

Ali said that her friends, who also got married during this period, came up with many ideas and worked through the modifications.

“The wedding industry is reviving and that is a positive thing,” Manaseer said.
