Greece tries to collaborate with Turkey


(MENAFN) Kyriakos Mitsotakis, Greece’s Prime Minister declared that he could work hard to collaborate with Turkey.

His comments was in a speech to the UN General Assembly in New York as he stated that his country constantly seeks to continue on opening the channels of conversation with Turkey, and Athens does not want stress which happened in 2020 to take place again.

Mitsotakis added that his country is going to carry on defending its sovereign rights, and said that Athens struggled with the risk of using power since 1995 because of the "casus belli" choice taken by Turkey.

During the 1990s, Greece gave a try to expand its defensive waters in the Aegean Sea to 12 miles nevertheless did not succeed when Turkey stated that a step like this would be a casus belli, or trigger conflict.
