Kuwaiti Amb. praises success of IAEA 65th Conf.


(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) VIENNA, Sept 24 (KUNA) -- Kuwait's Ambassador to Austria and its permanent representative to international organizations in Vienna, Sadiq Marafie, affirmed on Friday the success of the 65th session of the General Conference of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), chaired by Kuwait.
In a statement to KUNA, the ambassador said that the conference constituted a good opportunity to exchange views and evaluate progress made towards strengthening and developing national nuclear security and safety.
He also went on praising the efforts played by the IAEA Director-General, Rafael Grossi, the agency's staff and the members.
The ambassador affirmed Kuwait's continued cooperation with the agency, stressing at the same time the state's keenness to support the IAEA's activities, programs and initiatives.
This conference is the highest policy-making body in IAEA, held annually with the participation of member states to consider the agency's work. (end)
