Al Attiyah aims to win Cyprus Rally


(MENAFN- The Peninsula) QNA Qatar rally star Nasser bin Saleh Al Attiyah seeks to continue his brilliance this season and win the title of the Middle East Rally Championship early, when he competes in the 50th edition of the Cyprus International Rally, the fourth round of the 2021 season, starting today and will last for three days.

The rally's activities started yesterday with the exhibition stage and the opening ceremony with the participation of 32 crews from the host country Cyprus, Qatar, Oman, Kuwait, Jordan and France.

Al Attiyah, accompanied by his French navigator, Mathieu Baumel, in a Volkswagen Polo GTIR Rally2 car, will be the most prominent candidate to win the title of the rally, which will witness the participation of 6 drivers and 3 Arab navigators.

Al Attiyah leads the overall standings for the drivers of the Middle East Championship with 120 points, which he gained from two wins in Qatar and Jordan, and his second place in the Lebanon Rally behind the Lebanese title winner Roger Feghali.
