(MENAFN) On Tuesday, Sep. 21 the United Nations Support Mission in Libya (UNSMIL) urged the Libyan House of Representatives (parliament) to concentrate on arrangements for the approaching polls.
UNSMIL noted in a report that it "has received, with concerns, reports that the House of Representatives (HoR) has passed a no-confidence motion against the Government of National Unity (GNU)."
The report added that the UN mission "expects that the efforts of the HoR would focus on finalizing the parliamentary elections law and that the leadership of the HoR would advance efforts to build broad consensus on the emerging electoral legislative framework."
The UNSMIL called on the parliament to finish the work on the parliamentary polls law the coming week.
